EXPOSITION "OLD RURAL CRAFT SKILLS"
The exposition is located in the basement of the New Castle Manor building with the funding allocated by the EU Rural Support Service project "Improvement of the Aizpute Local History Museum". In this exposition, visitors to the museum are offered various workshops and practical activities.
The exposition consists of 6 exposition rooms, where old carpentry tools can be seen, in the carpentry workshop, under the guidance of a craftsman, it is possible to learn carpentry work skills, the textile crafts exposition invites to get acquainted with the process of weaving, threading and spooling. The Family Room of the exposition is a place for nice times together, sitting around oak tables and working in workshops.
The exposition of home and field works introduces the works and the tools necessary for their performance, which every housewife and man had to know while living on a farm.
The exposition "Blacksmith Ernests Ermanis Smithy" has the tools once used in the blacksmith’s Ernests Ermanis smithy and they introduce the blacksmith's work.
