View to St. John's Church, the Church Hill and the river Tebra
Until August 29, 1924, Liepājas Street was significantly shorter than it is today, as it ended at the bridge over Tebra. Further down, starting with the bridge, was the Liepāja Road and the territory of the Castle. On that date, the agenda of the Town Council meeting was "giving names to new streets", and it was decided, among other things, to name "Liepāja Road, which is a continuation from Liepājas Street as, "Liepājas Street".
Early 20th century view from the Livonian Order Castle to the river Tebra, Church Hill with St. John's Church and the roofs of the town center houses to the right of the church. The wooden bridge over Tebra shows that the scenic view of Aizpute was captured before 1907.
